Struble Trail
The Struble Trail is 2.6 paved miles along the East Branch of the Brandywine, west out of Downingtown. Flat enough for a walk, a jog, or an easy bike, with picnic spots and an ADA stretch from Dorlan Mill to Dowlin Forge.
I’m treating it as my default when I need creek air and don’t want a hike plan. Delayed-harvest trout water sits right beside the path if you’re into that kind of quiet. Full pin notes in the longer guide.

Willistown Nike Site
This was Cold War anti-aircraft defense: the command and radar that helped aim Nike missiles around Philly. Now it’s parkland on Delchester Road across from Okehocking, with trails and historical signage coming.
Willistown got the 12 acres through the National Park Service Lands to Parks program. Decades of leftover federal ground, finally handed to the township instead of sitting weird and locked.
When the trails open you’ll walk the old Media battery command plot with signs that actually explain what was here. I love a military leftover that turns into a place you can stroll. Full pin notes in the longer cut.
